Developmental Softball
The SGSA Developmental Program aims to introduce girls 5-8 years old to fastpitch softball.
Girls will learn fundamentals including throwing, catching, hitting, and base running.
Teams are formed by the Travel Director. We will accommodate friend requests as best as possible.
Parent coaches are needed! If interested, please note that during registration. SGSA is here to help and will assist/train, as needed.
COST
- 1 session: $125
- 2 sessions: $200
Cost includes an SGSA t-shirt and a "softie" softball to promote practice at home. Girls should bring this ball to practice each week.
COMMITMENT
- Session 1: April 14th - May 28th
- Session 2: June 8th - July 23rd
Each session consists of one practice per week for 45 minutes. These practices will be held on Tuesday or Thursday at 6:00PM or 6:45PM, depending on the team your player is on.

We do an equipment swap at tryouts and the parent meeting, so be on the lookout there for anything you may need. If you have anything to donate, you can bring it then.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I sign up to be a coach?
If you are interested in coaching, please check the appropriate boxes during registration. You will also be asked to choose your jersey and hat size.
What payment options does Crossbar accept?
You can pay with a credit/debit card or your bank account. Crossbar accepts Visa, Mastercard and Discover. AMEX is not supported.
Can my daughter "play up" a level?
Certain circumstances will be considered by the Board to allow players to play up a level. See our Age Classifications & Playup Policy page
Do all players need to attend tryouts?
Tryouts are only for travel team players. There are no tryouts for developmental softball.
Can I request to have my daughter play on the same team as another player?
Yes! Please email Travel Director Katie Ressie at ressiefamily@outlook.com with these requests.
Is fundraising required to be part of SGSA?
SGSA does not require players to do any fundraising. However, we do offer a fundraising opportunity for families to recoup some of their fees. This will be discussed at the parent meeting at the beginning of the season.
