8U MONSTA NATIONALS
Shakopee Girls Softball Association will be hosting 8U Monsta Nationals July 25-27 at Neil Johnson Softball Complex in Shakopee.
Team Check In
- Team check in is Friday starting at 7:00 am at Neil Johnson Softball Complex. Please have at least one coach check in one hour before the first pool play game.
- Gate fee checks should be made out to SGSA for $200.
- There will be concessions available while there are games being played.
Pool Play Games
- Pool play games will start at 8:00am on Friday.
Gift Exchange
- Gift exchange to be done following game one (1) of pool play. All teams are required participate for the fun of all teams. The tournament will not refund gifts under any circumstances, period. Gift bags should cost roughly $10 per bag.
- Some gift exchange ideas include: cooling towels, softball toiletries bag, prime, sunflower seeds, squishy ball, gum, sunglasses, eye black, sunscreen, blow up bat. Do not fill a bag full of candy.
Team Parade
- The team parade will be held Friday night. Line up starts at 7:00PM and the parade will begin immediately after the last game of the night (around 7:30PM). Please do not bring candy or throw candy. Parade will be on the West field. Parents can line up and watch the parade on either side of the West field on the pathways.
Pin Trading
- Teams are invited to trade pins before the team parade, after the team parade, and/or between games. We also encourage teams to add a pin to our tournament pin board, located near the concession stand!
ONLINE APPAREL STORE
- T-Shirts will be available on-site on Saturday, July 26. If we run out of sizes and colors, or you want hoodies, long sleeves, or tie die, check out our online apparel store.
Rules
- USA Softball rules apply. Teams will bat all players in attendance. If you reduce due to injury or ejection there will not be an out unless you reduce the lineup to below 9 players.
- Time limit is 70 minutes. No new inning will start after 75 minutes.
- Each team will get three pool play games and will be seeded into different divisions (Gold, Silver, Bronze) based on performance in their pool.
Rosters
We are using online rosters. If you use a player that is not on your online roster, you run the risk of being protested and removed.
PICKUP PLAYER FORM
The only exception to using a non-rostered player is through a pickup player form. Each team is allowed to pick up three (3) players that are age eligible in this division.
